Russia to intensify attacks against Ukraine

President Vladimir Putin says Russia will intensify attacks on military targets in Ukraine after the attack on the Russian city of Belgorod over the weekend, writes Kyiv Post.

24 people died and over 100 were injured in the attack, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry. The attack was initiated after Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukrainian cities, the largest since the invasion began.

– We will intensify the attacks. No crimes against the civilian population will go unpunished. One thing is certain, Putin said during a visit to a military hospital on Monday.

He also said that Russia will continue to press with what he calls “military operations”.

– We are doing it today and we will continue to do it, Putin said.

Putin called the attack a terrorist attack

Putin called Ukraine’s attack on Belgorod a “terrorist attack” and accused Ukrainian forces of targeting “the center of the city, where people were walking, before New Year’s Eve.”

During New Year’s Day, Ukraine and Russia accuse each other of intense attacks.

The Ukrainian air force states on its Facebook page that the Moscow regime attacked with 90 drones against several different Ukrainian cities, including Odessa in southern Ukraine. They also write that the air defense should have shot down 87 of their Shaheed drones.
