Russia threatened to have destroyed the Leopard 2 tank – the video shows the agricultural machine exploding

Russia threatened to have destroyed the Leopard 2 tank

The video published by the Russian Ministry of Defense was quickly ridiculed on social media.

On Tuesday, the Russian Ministry of Defense released a video that it says shows the explosion of the Ukrainian Leopard 2 tank. The Russian state-controlled media eagerly reported on the video.

However, the video was quickly ridiculed on social media, because in reality Russia appears to be destroying an agricultural machine.

It tells about it, among other things Ukrainian newspaper Kyiv Post.

The destroyed vehicle does not look like a tank at all. The vehicle does not have a track, only wheels, and does not have a tank turret or cannon.

Russian war blog Vojennyi Osvedomitel says on his Telegram channel that he identified the explosive vehicle as a John Deere 4830 sprayer.

Driven sprayers are mobile agricultural machines that are used to spread, for example, fertilizers and pesticides on the fields.

The same video also shows three other vehicles that can be deduced to be combine harvesters based on their shape.

Hostilities intensified

In recent days, Ukraine has accelerated its attacks on the front. According to experts, this could be the beginning of an expected counterattack.

Russia claims to have repelled the attacks, but the claim has no support from independent sources.

Both sides claim to have destroyed dozens of tanks and killed thousands of soldiers.

Russia exceptionally admitted on Tuesday that it had lost 15 tanks.
