Following these developments, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also made a statement and expressed his demands. Aliyev said, “We clearly conveyed our demands to the Russian side, they were already delivered on December 27. What were they? First, the Russian side must apologize to Azerbaijan. Second, it must admit its guilt. Third, it must punish the criminals, fulfill its criminal responsibilities and both “To pay compensation to the state and the injured passengers and crew. TEMPORARY STAY PERIOD OF RUSSIAN CITIZENS IN AZERBAIJAN HAS BEEN REDUCED TO 90 DAYS

With the new visa decision signed by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, the temporary stay of Russian citizens in Azerbaijan has been reduced from 180 days to 90 days as of January 1, 2025. Russia had announced that starting from January 1, 2025, it would limit the temporary stay of foreign citizens in the country to 90 days within a calendar year.
