HE ASSESSED NAVALNY’S DEATH AS A “SAD EVENT”
Thanking the public for participating in the election, Putin emphasized his special thanks to the Russian army, which was on the line of contact in Ukraine. Putin stated that it is necessary to strengthen the capabilities of the Russian army in the new period.
Stating that all people feel like a single Russian family, regardless of religious belief and ethnic origin, Putin underlined that this is the most important condition for forward movement.
Assuring that all the tasks and goals he expressed in his speech to the Federal Assembly last month would be solved and achieved, Putin stated that the election result was an indication of the country’s citizens’ “confidence in him” and “hope that he will do everything as planned.”
Putin later answered journalists’ questions at the headquarters.
In response to a question from a US journalist, Putin described the death of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny in prison as a “sad event” and reminded that there were other cases where people died in prison, but such events also occurred in the USA. A few days before the news of his death came, Putin announced that he accepted the idea of replacing Navalny with Russian citizens imprisoned in Western countries.
“WE ARE FOR PEACE TALKS”
Stating that he was not aware of French President Emmanuel Macron’s ceasefire offer during the 2024 Paris Olympics, Putin emphasized that Russia will act in its own interests and the situation in the conflict zone under all circumstances. Putin continued his words as follows:
“We are in favor of peace talks, but not because the enemy has run out of ammunition. If they are really serious and want to build peace in the long term, we are in favor of peace talks. Not because there is a 1.5-2 year break for rearmament.”
Suggesting that France should not aggravate the conflict in Ukraine but contribute to a peaceful solution, Putin pointed out that they knew that there were NATO soldiers in Ukraine.
WORLD WAR 3
Answering the question of whether there will be a conflict between Russia and NATO, Putin said, “Anything is possible in the modern world. This conflict will lead to a full-scale Third World War being one step away, but I do not think anyone is interested in this issue.” said.
CHANGE STUDIES IN MANAGEMENT
Answering the question about whether he would make a change in the presidency and government in the new period, Putin said, “The issue now is to determine who will work most effectively in which place so that the overall result of teamwork is maximum.” he said.
Stating that they will think calmly with the government, presidential administration and Central Bank management and then make a decision, Putin stated that there is no need to rush and that there is a legal period of 2.5 months.
