Russia’s large-scale war of aggression against Ukraine continues for the third month. The war has entered a new phase as Russia has stepped up its hostilities in eastern and southern Ukraine.

Associate Professor of Military Sciences at the Swedish National Defense College Ilmari Käihkö believes that Russia is seeking an outcome in the war of aggression in which Ukraine could be divided into smaller parts.

– Clearly, both sides are preparing for a longer-term consumer war and for the conflict to become very long. The parties target the counterparty’s logistics centers.

Käihkö, who visited A-Talk on Thursday, said that talks about erecting a people’s republic in the Kherson region would indicate Russia’s efforts to break up Ukraine.

Director of the Department of Military Skills at the National Defense College Petteri Kajanmaa sees that Russia’s current military strength is enough to break up eastern Ukraine at most.

– In contrast, in the northern part of the Black Sea, such as Transnistria or Odessa in Russia, these forces do not have the performance. It would require mobilization and more troops, which takes time and guarantees nothing, Kajanmaan estimates.

Leading researcher at the Foreign Policy Institute Blue Flower Island believes that Russia does not want to reveal its ultimate military goals, but to frighten the West that perhaps even wider and bigger is coming.

– After the attacks in Transnistria, many people think that Russia is not just seeking a land connection to Crimea but to Moldova.

The island considers Russia’s disintegration efforts in Ukraine entirely possible.

– Ukraine may have to resort to unfair and bitter extradition. If the second balance sheet has sovereignty and sovereignty, as well as a determined rapprochement with the European Union, that may be its assessment.

Director of the Estonian Foreign Policy Institute Kristi Raik recalls that the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine is about bigger goals.

– Russia wants to constantly highlight the ongoing conflict between Russia and the West, Russia and NATO. Putin serves by emphasizing the big picture and justifying the continuation of the war. Putin will certainly stick to his goal of defeating Ukraine as an independent state.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin the Secretary-General of the Security Council, an insider Nikolai Patrushev accused Western countries in an interview with a Russian newspaper on Tuesday that would split Ukraine into more states.

One new turn in the Russian invasion is linked to Moldova’s Transnistria, where there have been a number of unclear attacks in recent days. The self-proclaimed region is a pro-Russian strip in the eastern part of the country.
