Not entirely unexpectedly, Russia announced today that it will establish new military bases in the western parts of the country in response to Sweden’s and Finland’s NATO plans. Russia’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated that military tensions in the West were rising – and described the two Nordic countries as “potential threats”. See more in the player above.
