    Russia has been accused by several independent sources of having shot down the passenger plane that crashed in Kazakhstan on Christmas Day, writes the Wall Street Journal.

    Ukrainian security adviser Andriy Kovalenko claims on Telegram that Russian air defenses shot down the plane in the same area where they recently shot down many Ukrainian drones.

    The British aviation security company Osprey Flight Solutions also believes that it is likely that Russia accidentally shot down the plane.

    Russia has not commented on any allegations.
