Russia: Ferry with tankers attacked

A ferry in Port Kavkaz in the Kerch Strait, which lies between the Crimean Peninsula and Russia, has been attacked, the state-run Russian news agency Tass reports.
An explosion is said to have been heard and the emergency services are now working to extinguish the fire.

The ferry, which was in port, is said to have been loaded with several tankers and Russia claims that the attack was carried out by Ukraine.

Pictures on social media show how a black column of smoke rises from the port and the rescue service is now said to be working at the scene. Fire engines are said to have also been sent to the scene to help with the extinguishing work.
