Russia states that nine Finnish diplomats are being expelled as a countermeasure against Finland, according to the Russian state news agency Tass, Swedish EPN writes.
Russia also announces that the Finnish consulate in Saint Petersburg is closing.
Finland’s ambassador to Russia has also been summoned to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Maria Zacharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, writes Tass.
According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomats are being expelled as a countermeasure against Finland. Russia claims that Finland is engaged in an “anti-Russian policy”, which aims to break down relations between the countries, writes Swedish EPN.
