Russia: Drones stopped outside Moscow

Two drones have been shot down near a military facility outside Moscow, according to the governor of the Russian capital region, Andrei Vorobyov.

The drones were headed for military warehouse buildings in the city of Naro-Fominsk, approximately 7.5 miles southwest of Moscow, the governor writes on the Telegram messaging service. According to him, they were stopped by the military and no people or buildings are said to have been damaged. None of this information has been verified by anyone else.

“I ask people to keep calm,” writes Vorobyov.

Ukrainian attacks, mainly drones, have been regularly directed at Russian soil during the course of the full-scale war, but then it has mainly been in areas close to the border.

In early May, two drones were shot down above a building in the government quarters of the Kremlin in Moscow in a high-profile incident. A couple of weeks later, drones struck at least three residential buildings in the Moscow area.
