Last year, the companies that continued to operate in Russia earned over SEK 2,300 billion. According to a report from the Kyiv School of Economics, the companies paid around SEK 38 billion in profit tax to the Russian treasury.
Although the sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia have caused the country’s revenues to fall sharply this year, the country still benefits from the companies that remain.
