During the night, Russia has carried out new attacks against the capital of Ukraine.
It is the eighth attack on Kiev in the month of May.
Kiev’s military administration states that drones, cruise robots and ballistic robots were fired at the city “from several different directions at the same time”.
During the night of Tuesday, the Ukrainian capital has been subjected to a new Russian attack. The air raid warning has sounded and the residents of the city have been asked to seek shelter during the night, writes AFP.
In an update on the war, Kiev’s military administration said Russia used drones, cruise missiles and possibly ballistic missiles that were fired “from multiple directions simultaneously.”
Serhij Popko, who is the head of Kiev’s military administration, writes on Telegram that most drones and robots are shot down by the air defense.
“According to preliminary information, a large majority of enemy targets were discovered and destroyed in the air,” he writes according to The Guardian.
“Exceptional” attack
The night’s attack on Kiev is the eighth carried out in May and, according to Popko, it was “exceptional”.
A total of 18 robots were shot down by the air defense, according to the Ukrainian army. Several drones were also shot down.
Three people have been injured by falling debris in the Kyiv region, according to the city’s mayor Vitaly Klytchko. Elsewhere, the attacks caused fires in buildings and damage to cars.
The Russian attack comes a day after President Volodymyr Zelenskyi visited London for a meeting with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during his European tour.
