Representatives of Ukraine and Russia sign an agreement in Istanbul to allow the transportation of grain and fertilizers through the Black Sea.
The agreement is signed by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov. UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are also attending the meeting in Turkey.
The agreement makes it possible to export 22 million tons of grain from Ukraine, which for several months has been stuck in the ports along the Black Sea coast due to Russia’s war of aggression.
Military delegations from Ukraine and Russia reached a preliminary agreement last week that also allows Russia to export grain and fertilizer.
