Russia and Ukraine agreed again Critical development in oil shipments

After the Ukrainian oil company Ukrtransnafta stopped the shipment of Russian oil from the Drujba Oil Pipeline to Europe yesterday, the Slovak oil company Slovnaf stated that Ukraine and Russia, which had a disagreement on the payment point, reached an agreement, and it was announced that the oil flow started again. “Oil flow has resumed from the Drujba Oil Pipeline,” the statement said. “We expect oil to reach Hungary and Slovakia on Thursday and Friday,” the statement said.

The Slovak media stated that Ukraine accepted the payment made by Russia for the oil flow, and within the framework of the agreement, Ukraine immediately started the oil flow.

OIL FLOW STOPPED

Igor Demin, spokesman of Russian oil and gas pipeline transportation company Transneft, said in a statement that Uktransnafta has stopped oil shipments from the Drujba line, which carries Russian oil through Ukraine to Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Demin said, “Ukrtransnafta completely stopped the supply to Hungary, Czechia and Slovakia from the southern branch of the Drujba oil pipeline on August 4 at 06.10. However, shipments to Poland and Germany continue via Belarus.”

Originating from Russia’s Samara Region, the Drujba Oil Pipeline branches off to the north and south from the Russian city of Bryansk, on the border of Ukraine and Belarus. Oil transferred from these lines reaches Poland, Germany, Czechia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and Hungary. (UAV)
