A woman in her 40s who escaped from a forensic psychiatric facility in Falköping five months ago is now back – after she handed herself in to the police, reports Sweden’s Radio Ekot.

The woman, who disappeared while she was shopping in a grocery store with a carer on February 22, has, according to her own information to the forensic psychiatrist, been hidden in a place in Småland.

According to information to Ekot, the department is now receiving internal criticism because only one employee was supervising the woman in the store on the day she disappeared.

The woman is judged to be violent and has previously been convicted of violent crimes and unlawful persecution. She is considered to be at risk of recidivism.
