To consume better and build the perfect wardrobe, there is a very specific method to follow. Explanations.
For budgetary, logistical (lack of space, for example) or ecological reasons, more and more people are seeking to consume less clothing. However, there is no question of putting style aside. The new fashion reflex to adopt to be trendy without having to buy new pieces in store? Follow the 3/3/3 rule.
What is the 3/3/3 rule?
Popularized by Rachel Spencer, or @rachspeed on TikTok, the 3/3/3 rule transforms our wardrobe in the blink of an eye. Here, it is not a question of calculation, but rather of choose nine seasonal pieces from our wardrobe. Among these, three tops, three bottoms and three pairs of shoes. The idea is simple: create a maximum of looks with a minimum of pieces. For example, the content creator manages to create 19 different outfits with just a white T-shirt, a shirt, a cardigan, a black skirt, raw jeans and leather pants. Shoe department, babies, white sneakers, black boots and that’s it!
Inspired by the minimalist trend, this rule pushes us to compose what we call a “capsule wardrobe”. A way to rethink the way we wear clothes, while mixing together fashion pieces that we would never have worn together. While you could wear a cardigan in only one way, that is to say completely open, thanks to the 3/3/3 rule, it can also be worn buttoned all the way up or inside out to make a pretty sweater out of it. The same goes for the black skirt, which can be combined with flat shoes for a casual look, when it doesn’t perfectly dress up an evening outfit.
But ultimately, no matter which nine pieces are selected, the best way to wear them differently is to accessorize them. We focus on handbags, sunglasses, jewelry and hats to create different looks. In short, the headaches in front of the mirror in the morning are over!
