Royal Leerdam has been making table glass, such as wine glasses, for almost a century and a half and is historically regarded as industrial heritage and commercially as the top 5 player in the European glass market. It merged with a Portuguese competitor in 2005. With 600 employees in the Netherlands and Portugal, the group now generates an annual turnover of around EUR 120 million in Europe, Australia, the Middle East and South Africa. It includes a head office and a glass factory in Leerdam and a distribution center in Gorinchem.
