Because his journey resembles a world tour and the places where he composed and recorded his three albums directly influenced his romantic pop, I suggested to the French artist ROVER, to come back to the “exiles” of his life. From New York to Beirut, via Brussels, Paris or Loguivy-Plougras, here is his SessionLab: a wandering story of siblings and rugby, with a lot of humor in it!
As his stage name does not indicate, Rover is a French author, composer, singer and musician. A pop goldsmith with the voice of an angel, who sings in English. His real name is Timothée Reigner and he will be 44 this year.
Because his dad worked for an airline, Rover lived in the Philippines, Japan, Switzerland and even Germany… all this before he was 8 years old! Since then, he has been on the move. A way of life that will immerse him in music like a refuge (Beach Boys, Beatles and Bach, in the lead) and will inspire his artist name: “Rover” comes from the verb “to rove” in English (to wander, to wander ).
Just ten years ago, this gun-eyed colossus released his first album Rover. Written ina Breton residence of 1701 located in the Côtes-d’Armor (Brittany), it will become Gold Record.
Since then, Rover has delivered two opuses: let it glow(2015), recorded at the Kerwax studio (Côtes-d’Armor) and Eiskeller (2021), composed and recorded in an old 19th century Brussels icehouse.
To understand how places have a direct influence on his music and on the man he is today, I asked Rover to come back, with the help of the world map, on the different stages, even “exiles” ( a word that is dear to him) of his life.
From New York to Beirut via Brussels, Paris or Loguivy-Plougras, here, from the 104 (Paris), Rover’s SessionLab: a wandering story of siblings and rugby, with a lot of humor in it!
