Toyota’s Kalle Rovanperä leads the Latvian Rally of the World Series after the first special test.
Two-time world champion Kalle Rovanperä leads Toyota, who tied for second place near Riga Sebastien Ogier and Hyundai Thierry Neuville 2.4 seconds from the top.
– In these conditions it is impossible to say which tire to choose, so we just chose one and hoped it would be good. The guys behind come harder because the route flattens out, Kalle Rovanperä said in an interview with WRC.
Hyundai’s Esapekka Lappi is ninth, 10.6 seconds off the lead.
The eighth World Rally Championship of the season will be run tomorrow with seven special stages. The competition ends on Sunday.
