The Work Involves The Construction of A Single Lane Roundabout and the Rehabilitation of the Queen’s Line Bridge Just West of the Intersection Over Govern Drain No. 1, Said the Municipality of Chatham-Kent in a Media Release On Friday.

HURON CONSTRUCTION, WHICH IS UNDERTAKER The Two Projects Under ONE Contract, is attemply Scheduled to Mobilize Equipment and Installer Traffic Control Signage and Detour Route Information Starting Monday, The Municipality Said.

Three phases are planned for the work to do this spring.

Phase 1 Involves Construction Work in the Westbound Lane of Queen’s Line, The Municipality Said. The Roadway Will Remain Open to Traffic However Lanes Will Be Shifted South.

“Motorists may see some delays, and there is the potential for shorts term lane Down to one lane with flagging on queen’s line at Times During the Construction,” The Municipality Said.

The First Phase, estimated to take six weekends to complete, also requires a full closure of merlin road between queen’s line and mcdougall line, Scheduled to Begin March 24, the municipality Said. Merlin Road South of Queen’s Line Will Remain Open.

Phase 2, Which is expected to last weekends, Involves Construction Work in the Eastbound Lane of Queen’s Line, with Traffic shifted to the North, the municipality Said. During this phase, queen’s line will be reduce to a single lane of traffic.

“Portable temporary Traffic signals will be instaled on queen’s line to safely direct traffic through the construction zone,” The Release Said. “This phase also requires a full closure of merlin road between gleeson line and mcdougall line.”

Phase 3 Involves Construction of the Middle Section of the Roundabout at the Realted Intersection of Queen’s Line and Merlin Road, the municipality Said.

“This phase will involve lane shifts; However, a full closure of queen’s line will be required for a short duration to fully complete the roundabout. ”

Timing of the Full Closure will be Shared with the public when it is scheuduled later in the spring and updates will be provided as each phase of work approaches.

“Motorists are advised to follow posted speed signage and construction detour signage at All Times, as the dates of the closures may change as work progress,” The Municipality Said.

Access to all fartes will be maintained through the project.
