Rough weather awaits: “Has a real cover”

A heavy snowfall is expected to move across the country on Wednesday, and it is expected to get up to two decimetres of snow in some places.
– There is a lot of snow moving in from the west, says TV4’s meteorologist, Peter Kondrup.

During Wednesday, a heavy snowfall moves in over Sweden. SMHI has issued several yellow warnings for strong winds in combination with snowfall in different parts of the country.

– We have a real change in the weather, says Peter Kondrup.

The weather warnings apply to, among other things, the Northern Lapland Mountains, parts of Norrbotten and Härjedalsfjällen, and southern Jämtlandsfjällen.

– During the night to Wednesday, the snowfall starts to find its way towards the mountains and it blows up with strong winds. It also does it along the entire Norrland coast and the northern West coast, says Peter Kondrup.

In Uppland, between 5 and 8 centimeters of snow is expected, and 5 to 10 centimeters in western Svealand.

Later in the afternoon and evening, up to two decimetres of snow is expected in parts of Norrbotten county.

– It’s a rather rough weather day, so you have to watch out for traffic when you go out, says Peter Kondrup.
