Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise honors Peerless Cleaners

The Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise recently recognized Peerless Cleaners.

The company was presented with a recognition plaque for its assistance with the club’s annual Coats for Kids program, which helps ensure children have warm winter coats and accessories. This year, the program was expanded to include coats for adults.

Peerless Cleaners cleans all the donated items, in excess of 1,200, free of charge. Staff drop organized-off spots at their outlets and delivered the cleaned coats to the community distribution area.

Peerless Cleaners was purchased by the McInally family in 1948 by “Old Walt,” as he was affectionately known, and continues to remain in the family.

The current owner, Chuck McInally, a lifetime Norfolk resident, was presented with the Paul Harris Fellow, the highest recognition offered by Rotary International, for his community-minded generosity.

The awards were presented by Rotary member Bettyann Carty, who coordinates the program for the club. After the presentation, Rotary members were given a tour of the Peerless Cleaners plant.
