Emil Rose Mountain won a tasty win in the first round of the French Open tennis tournament when he defeated France Ugo Humbertin 6–2, 2–6, 6–7, 6–4, 6–2. The match lasted as many as 3 hours and 49 minutes.

Rose Mountain (ATP-61) took the first installment clearly into its name, but then the grip licked and Humbert (ATP-46) took the next installment just as clearly and after the cut-off game a third installment.

After the tie-break, the rain had to be paused, and after that Ruusuvuori came back into the game at a rapid pace. He broke Humbert’s first two passes and had a couple of innings in a 5-1 situation. The Frenchman fought to encourage his home crowd and Rose Mountain needed as many as ten bouncing balls in the batch before he could win.

In the fifth set, Ruusuvuori got a good setup right from the start when he took the third game on Humbert’s pass. This break would have been enough for the victory, but the Finn took another Humbert pass and got to win the match in a 5–2 situation.

Ruusuvuori got two match balls in his last pass. The first was cleared by Humbert, but in the second, Rose Mountain took the match into its name. Throughout the match, Ruusuvuori had as many as 22 breaking balls, seven of which he took.

– In some places it was time for a roller coaster. It both had quite a lot of opportunities and the best of the five, it’s a whole different match. Five installments and four hours, so there will be time for that to happen, Ruusuvuori stated after the match.

Ruusuvuori said he was very pleased with the victory, but also that for the first time, he was also in the second round of the tournament.

– It was one big goal for me to win the first “round” here. It came through a fight and I get to be happy, but the point goes on and we try to get back as well as possible and continue from there.

Bangs for doubles, doubles are fun

In the second round, Ruusuvuori will face a Norwegian Casper Ruudin, which currently ranks eighth on the world list. Ruud won the last tournament in France Jo-Wilfried Tsongan 6–7, 7–6, 6–2, 7–6. Rose Mountain has practiced a lot with Ruud and knows that this is good on every platform.

– Especially with the crowd, he thrives best. It’s been about a month against the last match, you just have to make it better, Ruusuvuori said, referring to the Barcelona tournament, where the Norwegian won 6-2, 6-2.

Tsonga, 37, challenged Ruud well, even though he hasn’t played many tournaments lately. In this match, too, Tsonga had difficulty with her shoulder injury and had to take overtime to take care of it. However, Ruusuvuori thinks the veteran has been able to play at a good level until the end.

– He has been able to challenge the top 10 players and even the top 5 players in the crowd. He’s an insanely good tennis player and has had a really amazing career. Can’t but congratulate and look up.

The French crowd also gave Tsonga applause at the last moments of the match. Ruud led the cut 6-0 when Tsonga came in to pass. The crowd stood up to clap and made the French player become sensitive.

Rose Hill is scheduled to play in the French Open, including doubles for the United States Denis Kudlan with. The duo will face Poland in the opening round Lukasz Kubotin and French Edouard Roger-Vasselin.

– Now, especially as my duel continues, I go to that match with ease. Of course, all the bangs are put into doubles and fun is played in doubles.
