Minnesota’s Swedish rookie goaltender Jesper Wallstedt kept a clean sheet for the first time in his NHL career when Chicago was defeated 4-0 last night.

Wallstedt made 24 saves during the meeting, which was his second game in the league after a much tougher debut in January when he let seven pucks pass. Sunday’s successful match was thus a real revenge after the shaky debut after New Year.

The victory keeps alive Minnesota’s streak of hope for a so-called wild card spot in the playoffs.

The 21-year-old from Västerås and with games there and in Luleå on the merit list became historic when he was the first Swedish goalkeeper of all time to be selected in the first round of the 2021 NHL draft by Minnesota.
