Ronny Brannkarr finished sixth in the European Championship Laura

Ronny Brännkärr twice improved his record in the 200 meter medley at the European Championships.

Ronny Brännkärr was sixth in the 200-meter medley final in the short-course EC swimming in Romania’s Otopen with his own record of 1:55.09. Brännkärr, who swam in his first honors final, was satisfied with his performance.

– It always hurts. It was a good swim, Brännkärr said.

– In the butterfly, I started quite badly, the backstroke didn’t feel as easy as before, the breaststroke worked pretty much the same way, but in the freestyle the acids hit pretty bad, Brännkärr analyzed his swim.

According to the man himself, finishing in the 200-meter medley was an outstanding performance

– I didn’t expect a place in the finals from this sport. It was quite a positive surprise that I was able to break the record twice.

Laura Lahtinen advanced to the finals in the 100m butterfly. Lahtinen was sixth in the semi-finals with a time of 57.35.

In the semi-finals of the women’s 100m backstroke Lotta Upanne was 12th with a time of 59.30. So the place in the final was not released.
