Cristiano Ronaldo is still one of the best strikers in the world right now. But his rating could continue to drop in FIFA 23 and we’ll show you why that’s even deserved.
The official ratings of the players in FIFA 23 are not yet known, but there are already signs that the Portuguese superstar could get another downgrade. After all, his return season at Manchester United was far from perfect.
And should Ronaldo actually get a downgrade, it would be his lowest rating since FIFA 11, having a gold card with an overall rating of 89. Here you can see his already 12 year old card:
That’s why Ronaldo’s rating could go down
A big aspect that could lead to a downgrade is its age. The top star is now 37 years old and EA players who are older than footballers have rarely received upgrades to their ratings.
Rather, players’ ratings tend to drop as they get older, and Ronaldo seems to be no exception, as Ronaldo’s overall rating in Ultimate Team has been dropping since FIFA 20.
But you can’t speak of bad cards, Ronaldo was always one of the best cards in the game, despite minor downgrades, and only a few players were at his level.
Here are Ronaldo’s last gold cards since FIFA 19:
Its performance has declined: Ronaldo managed 18 goals and 3 assists in 30 league appearances for Manchester United last season, which is far from a bad figure.
His performances in the Champions League were also impressive, where he scored 6 goals in 7 games. Overall, Ronaldo was the top scorer for the Red Devils, who on the whole disappointed, however, losing almost every game in the end and only finishing in 6th place.
But these are not bad numbers, but Ronaldo’s odds looked very different in his prime. Ronaldo has scored more than 30 goals in 6 consecutive seasons and a total of 450 goals in 438 games for Real Madrid. A performance that is still incomparable today and that Ronaldo just can’t build on at the moment.
What rating could he get in FUT 22? It’s difficult to say at the moment, but a downgrade should be inevitable due to his weaker performance and age. One could well imagine a downgrade to a 90 rating, which would still make him one of the top players in FUT 23.
What do you think of Cristiano Ronaldo’s rating? Would a downgrade be deserved? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
