American actress Ron Elybest known for his role as Tarzan in the 1960s TV series, has died aged 86.

The matter is confirmed by Ely’s daughter Kirsten Casale on social media. Casale, who also spoke to the news agency AP, says that his father died on September 29 at his home in Los Alamos, California.

Ely became famous for his starring role in the Tarzan TV series, originally shown on the NBC television channel in 1966-1968, and played a significant role in creating a more modern image of the author by Edgar Rice Burroughs From the Tarzan character created at the beginning of the 20th century. While making the series, Ely acted with wild animals and also did his own stunts, which he said caused, among other things, several broken bones.
