The plot of the new Alien film is set between the first two parts of the series and revolves around a group of young colonizers who create a abandoned space station and plunder them. What they didn’t expect was the horrific creature hiding there.
Not only does this sound like the perfect premise for an alien film, but it also seems to be the perfect starting point for director Fede Álvarez. In the past, he shocked audiences with uncompromising horror blockbusters like Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe. Now he unleashes one of the most iconic monsters in film history.
Alien: Romulus is the seventh installment in the Alien series, which has been with us since 1979. Back then, Ridley Scott brought the space beast to the cinema, before he returned to the cinema more than three decades later for two prequel films returned to the director’s chair. Although Scott planned another film, it never came to fruition. He is the producer of Alien: Romulus.

When will Alien: Romulus be released in cinemas?
Alien: Romulus launches on 15 August 2024 in German cinemas. Cailee Spaeny, who most recently wowed audiences in Alex Garland’s apocalyptic Civil War, plays the lead role in the sci-fi horror. She follows in the footsteps of Sigourney Weaver and Noomi Rapace, who led the series in the previous films.
