Rome authorities are considering selling admission tickets to the famous Trevi Fountain.
Representing the authorities responsible for tourism Alessandro Onorato told Corriere della Sera in an interview that the purpose of the ticket-based reservation system would not be to generate money, but to reduce traffic jams and make tourists respect the attraction.
The tickets would be free for the residents of Rome, but I would charge tourists a “symbolic” fee of one euro.
