The Rogue Prince of Persia early access date has been postponed to late May. The developer team states that they need more time to polish the game.
The early access of The Rogue Prince of Persia, a 2D rogue-lite game developed by Evil Empire and based on Ubisoft’s famous series, has been postponed from the planned date of May 14 to the end of this month. The developer team plans to announce the new release date on May 13.
The Reason for Rogue Prince of Persia Early Access Delay: Hades 2
The reason for the postponement is that Hades 2, currently one of the best-selling games on Steam, was unexpectedly opened to early access. “Seeing everyone and their mom playing this game (including our entire team and their mom), we decided to let people have fun with this game before releasing The Rogue Prince of Persia,” the developers said.
Even though the developer team is confident in the game, releasing a game of the same genre into early access a week before their planned date could have an impact that cannot be ignored. For this reason, the team made a short delay and moved the release date of The Rogue Prince of Persia to the end of the month.
This delay also provides an opportunity to further polish the day one patch. During this process, the game’s development team will have the chance to do more testing before launch, which has “already significantly reduced the stress levels of our producer and game director,” he explained.
The Rogue Prince of Persia will start with the first story chapter in early access, consisting of six levels and two bosses. Players will be able to use different primary and secondary weapons, medallions that provide passive effects, and more. Developers state that early access will last about a year and will expand over time with the addition of new levels, bosses, story content, progression systems and more.
