Roger Rönnberg has coached Frölunda since 2013.
His contract expires in 2025, and has been rumored for a big club.
Now Rönnberg is speaking out about the information.
The year 2000 took Roger Rönnberg the job as Luleå’s J20 team. Seven years later, he became a coach in Luleå’s first team in the Elitserien. After a stint in the national team and various roles around Tre Kronor, he took over the main responsibility for Frölunda in 2013.
Rönnberg in Frölunda
Rönnberg has now coached the club for ten years. During that time, they have won two SM golds, and been in the final just as many times. The Gothenburg club has also won four in the Champions Hockey League since Rönnberg took over.

In the last two years, Frölunda has gone to the semi-finals in the SHL, where they went out against Växjö Lakers and Luleå HF respectively. The year before that, it was “only” a quarter-final, where they lost four straight games against Rögle BK.
Frölunda is currently seventh in the regular season with 22 games played.
Commenting on the reports
Rönnberg’s contract with Frölunda extends to 2025, and already now the rumors of a move have started to circulate. This week it was reported that Rönnberg was ready for the Swiss big club ZSC Lions. Something rakapuckar.com was the first to report, and which Aftonbladet then followed up with the same information.

Now Rönnberg has commented on the information for the first time.
– I don’t focus on rumours. Others can do that. I focus on winning SM gold with Frölunda. But I can say this. That information is not correct, says the 52-year-old to SVT Sport.
