Roger Rönnberg taped his own mouth before a TV4 interview

It is not too often that Roger Rönnberg can keep quiet.
But in the second period break in the match against Skellefteå, the Frölunda coach had suddenly put a strip of silver tape over his own mouth.

He’s used to standing out and doing some odd and quirky interviews, especially if it’s TV4’s commentator Patrick Westberg who is on the other side of the microphone. But in the match against Skellefteå surpassed enough Roger Rönnberg itself. The Frölunda coach will leave Sweden for Swiss Friborg-Gotteron ahead of next season and takes the opportunity to make an impression in the Swedish media before leaving.

“Fit the silly mustache”

In the second period break, Rönnberg stepped out into TV4 Play’s interview zone to give his view on the match, which then had the score 2-2. What surprised everyone was that he came out with a strip of silver tape over his mouth.

– I thought you were going to talk about that six man (Skellefteå had six outfield players on the court during one sequence) at the end, we are not allowed to talk about that, about verdicts and the like. Excuse me, excuse me, says Roger Rönnberg when he gets the tape off.

– Fit that silly mustache with silver tape, replies Patrik Westberg.

– Thank you, kisses and hugs, Rönnberg then replies.

Unable to confirm transfer

Frölunda was able to win the match 4-2 in the end and not only have two straight wins against Skellefteå (they won the last time with 4-0) but also eight wins in their last nine games in the league. They are in second place behind newcomer Brynäs.

When Rönnberg goes to Switzerland, Skellefteå coach Robert Ohlsson is actually expected to take over Frölunda. But it was nothing he wanted to talk about yesterday on TV4 Play.

– It is not something I can confirm, he says.

Last year’s winners Skellefteå are in fifth place in the SHL table. Before the two straight losses against Gothenburg, they had wins against both Färjestad and Linköping in the bag.
