If you take no shots, it is difficult to win hockey matches.
Frölunda coach Roger Rönnberg was furious on his team after the cod against Malmö, especially considering that they led during much of the match.
– I actually think that the third period is extremely lame. We refuse to take shots, he says.
Although the table lighthouse Frölunda led the match against Malmö twice, they failed to win. 1-0 became 1-1, which later became 2-1. But even when it felt like Frölunda would get in 3-1, the Scania also managed to rise. They got a 2-2 goal and took the match to an extension and later also penalties. There Malmö was strongest.
Rönnberg dissatisfied with the third period
After the match was Frölunda’s coach Roger Rönnbergwho makes his last season with the club, rosing. Especially on the players’ inability to end.
– I’ll check with Lechtales (ChristianFrölunda’s club director) if we have been given a new budget or something that means that players do not dare to shoot – with the risk of breaking off some clubs. I’m really annoyed actually. It’s rarely I am really annoyed at this team, he says in TV4 Play.

It was especially in the third period that Frölunda lost momentum and did not come to light. They had much of the game, but that last decisive was missing from the home team’s players.
– We have the puck in the attack zone, we move well, we play dynamically – but we refuse to shoot. We almost play ourselves out of zone instead. In fact, I think the third period is extremely lame. We refuse to take shots. We spin with the slopes, but we choose an enormous number of situations, says Rönnberg.
Rönnberg points out Frölunda’s problems
The Frölunda coach points out that they work a lot with just the attack game and come to the ends. They may bring this from the match to the training drink and simply rub further.
– We are not training for anything else right now but finding our attack game against goal, to take that shot and make sure to have people inside the surface in front of goals. We have people inside the surface, but we don’t take the puck there. It is really difficult to win hockey matches if you do not want to shoot the puck, says Roger Rönnberg.

Frölunda is thus in fourth place in the SHL table, two points after Luleå and one point ahead of Timrå. On Thursday, they are facing the series leaders Brynäs in Gävle. They have met each other twice before this season and they each have victory. For Malmö’s part, Skånederby awaits: Rögle at away. The last two struggles between the teams have won 4-3 after penalty decisions.
Who do you think will win the basic series this year? Is it the newcomer Brynäs or the big favorite Färjestad? Maybe something completely different team? Feel free to leave a comment on the Sport Bible Facebook page.
