Björn Borg is one of Swedish sports’ greatest.
In recent years, he has been captain of Team Europe in the Laver Cup.
Now the icon is thanked with a very nice parting gift from Roger Federer.
He is one of our foremost sportsmen in Sweden of all time. After a very successful tennis career was Björn Borg with and started up the Laver Cup 2017.
Borg says goodbye
Just like in golf, Europe’s best tennis players would face a world team and Borg as well as the archrival John McEnroe became captains of each team. This year’s edition of the Laver Cup was also a big farewell to the Swedish icon and McEnroe, who is now being replaced for next year, the legends will enter instead Yannick Noah and Andre Agassi.

Björn Borg also got to finish in the best way when his European team won this year’s edition, and thus Europe has won five of the last seven competitions. A very nice conclusion for the Swede as coach in the star tournament.
Federer’s gift
On site for this year’s Laver Cup in Berlin was also the icon Roger Federer. And he thanked both Borg and McEnroe in the best possible way with a very special gift. The captains were each awarded their own custom Rolex watch, with an engraved text for their efforts over seven years.

It was no direct coincidence that it was precisely Rolex watches. As the Swiss Federer has long had a close collaboration with the luxury watch manufacturer.
