Rockstar collaborates with the Cfx.re team, one of the biggest names in the GTA RP world. Fans are now wondering what this means for GTA 6.
Rockstar acquires Cfx.re
Rockstar announced on August 11 that it has acquired Cfx.re, the mod team behind GTA and Red Dead Redemption’s biggest RP servers. “We proudly announce today that Cfx.re is now officially part of Rockstar Games,” Rockstar said in a statement.
“Over the past few years, we’ve been excited to watch how Rockstar’s creative community has expanded, particularly through creating custom roleplay servers to expand the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2.” To further support these efforts, we’ve expanded our policy on mods to include those officially made by the roleplay creative community.”
Cfx.re also made a statement
Cfx.re also made its own statement on the acquisition, saying, “This is a huge step forward for the growth of our community. It is an opportunity to work with Rockstar Games to develop the FiveM platform and the creative community around it.”
The team explained to the players of their servers that our daily operations will not change noticeably, and will continue to improve the platform with the support of Rockstar. Additionally, Cfx.re leaves no room for misunderstanding, for those wondering what else Rockstar is working on, please understand that our collaboration is focused on our FiveM and RedM platforms. So please don’t ask us about the next GTA.”
Despite this, fans can’t help thinking about the possibility of combining the power of FiveM with GTA 6. One Twitter user says, “Now that Rockstar has bought FiveM and RedM, this will mean a great future for GTA 6”. “It’s a very positive step that Rockstar Games has chosen to work with the modding and roleplay communities,” says another.
The upcoming Rockstar debut doesn’t have a release date yet. However, the owner of Rockstar has already hinted that GTA 6 will be released by March 2025.
