Several explosions have been heard around Ukraine during the morning.

Russian rockets must have hit important infrastructure, according to Kiev’s governor.

– When are they going to let us sleep? asks journalist Nika Melkozerova.

At least three “massive things” flew over journalist Nika Melkozerova’s house at 04:00 on Thursday morning, she writes on Twitter.

Then came reports of several explosions in the vicinity of the Ukrainian capital.

The local governor, Oleksiy Kuleba, states that infrastructure has been shelled and that information is now being sought on any victims.

– This morning the enemy launched a rocket attack on a local community in the Vyshhorod district. All emergency services are already in place, writes Governor Oleksiy Kuleba in a statement Twitter.

According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, nine rockets have hit the Chernihiv region in the northeastern parts of the country. A number of them are said to have been fired from Belarus. There are also reports of explosions in the port city of Odessa in the southwest.

No injuries or deaths have been reported.

From defense to attack

Russia has carried out a “massive redeployment” of troops in southern Ukraine in what appears to be a change in tactics, according to President Zelensky’s adviser Oleksiy Arestovych.

Troops have been sent to the regions of Melitopol and Zaporizhzhya, which may mean that the focus has shifted from defense to attack, he says.

– This would put us in a position where we cannot liberate our entire territory. Putin sent an army to Ukraine to recreate the Soviet Union, he says in an interview on Ukrainian television.
