ROCK launches 50/50 raffle

To help with programs and services, a local homelessness outreach group has launched its first 50/50 raffle.

ROCK (Reach Out Chatham-Kent) is presenting its Winter is Coming fundraising initiative. Half of the total jackpot from ticket sales will go to the winner and the remainder will go to outreach programs, drop-in centers and more.

The draw will take place on Jan. 31 at 8 pm Tickets can be purchased online only, at rafflebox.ca/raffle/rockmissions.

ROCK serves those experiencing homelessness, insecure housing and people who use substances. They serve 300 people in Chatham and 120 in Wallaceburg each week.

The group also continues to grow the peer-to-peer program. It operates weekly out of Chatham to provide easier access to information, harm reduction supplies, community outreach and support.

The program continues to be one of the largest distributors of naloxone in Chatham-Kent, facilitates harm reduction information sessions, and has helped more than 100 people acquire replacement health cards.
