One of the music ensembles that The Groovebuzz collaborates with is Tune In. Niels Vermeulen was doing improvisation projects with young people for Tivoli Vredenburg when he was approached to participate and give improvisation workshops. “A positive spiral is created, people inspire each other in the enthusiasm of making music. For example, we have a number of people who have been addicted and you see them growing. They can connect with others, become friendlier, and suffer less from depression. You see all that kind of stuff. We’re not therapists, we’re musicians, but it’s really cool to see that it can have such an impact on someone’s lifestyle. I also think what’s important is that we not putting those diseases in the foreground, but the musicality, that is what unites us.”
