According to Looper, in her book Robert Pattinson: The Unauthorized Biography*, Virgina Blackburn writes that the Brit expressed strong negative feelings towards Cedric Diggory:
i hated him At my school, I hated everyone who was like Cedric [Diggory] was. I’ve never been a leader and the thought of making myself Head Boy would have been a complete joke. I wasn’t really invested in school and was never picked for any teams.

This is difficult. In the book and in my first script introduction, Cedric was introduced as ‘an absurdly handsome 17-year-old’. That irritated me a bit. I had to try acting and at the same time try to look good from the right angle. That’s really crazy. One might think that in reality I am in need of such recognition. That was the most intimidating part of this experience. That was much scarier than Lord Voldemort hold true.
Ultimately, his subsequent Twilight appearance also maneuvered him into this role of the adored young star. But after appearing in indie hits like Good Time and The Lighthouse and more recent blockbusters like Tenet and The Batman, Robert Pattinson needn’t worry about being reduced to his looks anymore. Eighteen years after Harry Potter 4, he has repeatedly demonstrated his acting skills.
