Three years have passed since Robert Nilsson ended his career.
But what does “Mini-Magic” do today?
– I enjoy, he says in the podcast Släpp Sargen.

Robert Nilsson had a long and successful career, which ended just over three years ago. He had then played seven straight seasons in the Swiss league, but in the end a concussion became so devastating that he could not continue.

He does today

But he did not immediately have anything to be ashamed of. In Sweden, there were games for both Leksand and Djurgården, and in total there were also 118 points in 252 games in the NHL, in the New York Islanders and Edmonton Oilers. It was also three years in the KHL for “Mini-Magic”, as he was called, as he is the son of the ice hockey legend Kenta Nilsson, also known as Mr. Magic.

But after Robert Nilsson chose to put the skates on the shelf, it has been quiet. He has barely been seen in the media, and there is not much fuss about him at all, even though he was so successful for so many years. However, he visits the latest episode of the hockey podcast Släpp Sargen, and then tells about how it comes about.

– I do not do much, so it is not so strange that you do not hear so much about me, he says.

“I enjoy”

Robert Nilsson says that he basically does nothing.

– I bathe, play golf, sit here and talk to you. It is not that much. But I enjoy.

One of the hosts of the podcast, Robin Figren, asks whether Robert Nilsson “does something adult”.

– So, grown up… I have to mow the lawn and keep an eye on the house. I have no children, so we can go and travel wherever we want, he says.

Nilsson says that he spends a lot of time out in the archipelago. He has also acquired a huge interest in wine.

– I have always had fun drinking wine, but you did not learn anything. But when I met my father-in-law, they had a large wine cellar, away in the United States, and that was when I started buying and collecting. Then you get to learn, and then after ten years you have hopefully built up a small basement.

It is clearly a life he enjoys.

– Yes, I’m not complaining. Not many people can live like this, they would probably feel some form of abstinence. But I’m not actually doing that.
