Robert F. Kennedy: Trump wants fluoride out of drinking water | News in brief

Robert F Kennedy Trump wants fluoride out of drinking water

It is not known whether Trump has had discussions with Kennedy about the message he posted about fluoride on the X service.

US presidential candidate Donald Trump’s supporter, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says Trump would take action as president to remove fluoride from drinking water.

Kennedy, who is especially known for his anti-vaccination, writes in the X service that on his first day on the job on January 20, Trump would instruct the authorities to take action to remove fluoride from public drinking water. Kennedy describes fluoride as industrial waste, which, according to him, has been linked to, among other things, bone cancer, bone fractures and a decrease in IQ.

Fluoride, which naturally occurs in the soil, among other things, prevents tooth decay by reducing the metabolism of the bacteria that cause caries. The Associated Press news agency writes that adding low levels of fluoride to drinking water has long been considered one of the greatest public health achievements of the last century.

However, large amounts of fluoride are harmful to teeth and bones. In 2005, US authorities recommended reducing fluoride concentrations in drinking water.

In Finland, drinking water is not fluoridated, i.e. fluoride is not added to drinking water. Finns take care of their teeth so well that this is not necessary, he says Department of Health and Welfare.

Trump flashed Kennedy a significant role in health care

The younger Robert F. junior has been described as the black sheep of his family. In recent years, Kennedy has become known for his anti-vaccination and spreading conspiracy theories.

Trump has previously said that if he is elected president, Kennedy will have a significant role in US health care.

It is not known whether Trump has had discussions with Kennedy about the message he published on the X service. Trump’s campaign and Kennedy’s spokesman have not commented on the matter.

Kennedy participated in the presidential race as an uncommitted presidential candidate, but dropped out in the summer and announced that he would start supporting Trump.

Robert F. Kennedy Junior’s father was a senator Robert F. Kennedy and an uncle to the former President of the United States John F. Kennedy.
