An unvaccinated child has died and at least 146 people have fallen ill in a brass outbreak in Texas.

Now the vaccine skeptical health minister Robert F Kennedy Jr. sends vaccine to the area.

– Vaccine not only protects individual children from measles, but also contributes to flock immunity, RFK JR writes in a debate article on Fox News.

RFK JR also writes on X that the Ministry of Health has sent 2,000 doses of the MMR vaccine against measles, mumps and red dogs to the area.

In total, two people have died in the ongoing outbreak in Texas, which is the first time in ten years that someone died of measles in the United States.

Have spread false claims

In her debate article, Kennedy also writes that measles is “a highly contagious respiratory disease with certain health risks, especially for unvaccinated individuals”. He adds that the vaccine needs to be easily accessible to anyone who wants them.

Robert F Kennedy Jr. was one of the greatest advocates of the disputed claim that the MMR vaccine leads to autism in children.

Kennedy has also been accused of urging Samoa’s prime minister in 2018 not to resume vaccine against measles when he, as chairman of the anti-vaccing group Childrens Health Defense, traveled to the archipelago.

Samoa had paused vaccinations after two nurses accidentally mixed the vaccine with muscle relaxation, which killed two children. The following year, the archipelago was hit by an outbreak of measles and 83 people died. In retrospect, Robert Kennedy has received great criticism for his involvement.
