– These are very unusual robberies. It is unusual for taxi drivers to be affected, says police spokesman Nils Norling to TT who went through the statistics and has not been able to detect anything similar in the city so far this year.
– You should have threatened at least a couple with what appears to be a knife.
The first alarm came late last night, when a taxi driver who drove several people to the Holma area was forced to hand over money under knife threat.
Shortly afterwards, a driver from Västra hamnen in Malmö who had been exposed to the same thing alerted. The third alarm comes early in the morning, when a driver is said to have been forced to pay money in the Oxie district.
In all cases, the drivers point out that these are younger perpetrators. So far no arrests have been made, police say.
– We have received certain signaling information that we are working on further. We are also looking to see if there are any further witnesses in the places where these people were picked up or dropped off.
