Robbery suspect faces several weapons charges

A 39-year-old Brantford woman believed responsible for an armed robbery on Canada Day is facing several weapons-related charges.

Police say a verbal dispute took place at about 7 pm on July 1, 2023, between the accused and a female victim at a Mary Street residence.

It is alleged that the victim was threatened at gunpoint and taken to a Colborne Street convenience store where she was forced to give money to the accused, who then fled.

The victim was not physically injured in the incident.

Officers were able to locate and arrest the accused on July 3, 2023, at about 1:30 pm in the area of ​​Dalhousie and Queen streets.

The accused faces two counts each of carrying a concealed weapon, point firearm, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, firearm – use while committing offence, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of firearm, firearm or weapon: possession contrary to prohibition order , robbery with firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, uttering threats, intimidation, and breach of probation.

The accused was held for bail.
