Robbed Golf Association reacts to criticism Plans to organize a

Finland’s top players have criticized the activities of the Golfliito. In February, the association will organize a meeting with the players named to the Olympic group.

Earlier this week, Urheilu reported on the harsh criticism of Finnish top golfers towards the Golfliitto. The criticism was aimed at the union’s decision to choose Mikael Salminen to coach an amateur team.

Among other things, the fact that he doesn’t have a PGA education has caused astonishment.

– This is a completely farcical show from the Golfliito. It doesn’t surprise us top players though, because the level has been operating like this for years, Mikko Korhonen said.

Korhonen and Kalle Samoa aimed their criticism above all at the management of the sports association.

– There is enough know-how in Finland, but we should blow on common coal. Such solutions do not help the gang to want to cooperate in a big way. If I had to apply for coaching help myself, I would unfortunately not turn to this four in this situation, Samooja stated.

The Golf Association reacted

The Golf Association announced on Thursday that it has taken the players’ concerns into account and plans to organize a meeting in February in which the players named to the Olympic group can participate. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss grievances, improve interaction and trust with professional players. According to the release, “the situation has also been discussed with the representatives of the Olympic Committee”.

– I am very sorry that the situation has led to a lack of trust. I believe that by listening and openly discussing things together, we can solve and develop things in both the short and long term, operational director of the union Juha Korhonen says in the announcement.

The association also informs that support athletes have now been named to the Finnish Olympic team based on the current Olympic ranking Matilda Castren, Ursula Wikström, Noora Komulainen, Sami Välimäki mixed Kalle Samoa. Support per athlete is 8,000 euros.

– The enhancement support is distributed to the athletes in question and, in accordance with the support decision, is allocated to preparing for the Olympics and enabling training and success in the Olympics. The athlete can use the support for his personal coaching process, which includes sport coaching and other expert and support services, the release states.
