Those responsible for Aion Classic have published the first roadmap for 2025. In addition to fresh events and dungeons, you can also expect innovations that are well-intentioned but could wipe out an entire faction.
What are these dangerous innovations? In the first quarter of 2025, the populations of the Atreia and Tahabata servers are scheduled to be merged onto a completely new Aion Classic server. A merge like this is always a double-edged sword for those affected.
Although you combat the declining number of players, which can have a positive effect on cooperation and competition in an MMORPG (e.g. when it comes to waiting times for group content), you also always take a piece away from the server communities, some of which have grown over the years their identity.
However, that’s not what’s worrying some Aion Classic players right now. Rather, they look at the faction ratio: the Elyos are in the clear majority. This imbalance could be made worse by the server merge, some players fear.
User daruniasjoy writes on YouTube: “The merge will kill the Asmodians faction. If you don’t have solid plans to address this issue, a merge will bring nothing of value.”
As part of the server merger, there will also be a class change event in which you can permanently change your class once. eladiadc5814 hopes on YouTube that there will also be a chance to change the faction from Elyos to Asmodians, but not the other way around: “Otherwise it will be impossible to play.”

Big update in Q2 2025
What else does the roadmap reveal? Otherwise, there are mainly events on the program in the first quarter of the year. Things will get much more exciting in the second quarter when the anniversary party starts and Update 3.7 brings new dungeon challenges. Here are the details:
While the MMORPG oldies Aion and Aion Classic continue to be expanded with new content, the MeinMMO editorial team is primarily waiting for the release of the sequel, which is scheduled to appear in the second half of 2025. Aion 2 places a big focus on PvE and a business model like Throne and Liberty.
