Road closed Sunday after motorcyclist killed in collision near Hagersville

A Stoney Creek man is dead after a Sunday collision involving his motorcycle and a trailer at the intersection of Highway 3 and Cheapside Road just south of Hagersville.

Haldimand OPP say they responded to a call about the incident at about 1:30 p.m. and found the rider had become trapped under a trailer.

The Haldimand County Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services arrived and extricated the 54-year-old, rushing him to the Hagersville Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police said the two male occupants of the other vehicle involved were not injured.

The road remained closed on Sunday afternoon as police investigators continue to look into the collision and the Technical Collision Investigators and Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team are asking for witnesses to come forward.
