Between Tuesday 7 November and Wednesday 8 November there is a risk of flooding in Gävleborg county, parts of Dalarna, Västernorrland and Västmanland counties.
The snowmelt, rain and wet ground have resulted in high flows in ditches, streams and some rivers, with high current velocities in the waterways – flows that occur on average every 5 to 25 years.
Now SMHI is warning that land adjacent to waterways and lakes is at risk of flooding, which could affect roads and viaducts.
In Dalarna, four municipalities are affected: Borlänge, Säter, Hedemora and Avesta.
