Riots in Sweden continued rubbish bins rumbled in Malmo

The rioting is linked to the events of far-right politician Rasmus Paludan, where he tends to burn the Qur’an.

In Sweden, the riot on Saturday continued well into Malmö until the night before Sunday. Policemen were thrown with rocks and fire bottles. In addition, a city bus was set on fire.

After a few calm hours, the situation worsened in Malmö after midnight. There were several arson sites in the city when rubbish bins, rubbish bins and cars were set on fire.

Police announced at half past three at night local time that the situation was still chaotic and that they were working to restore order.

A few hours later, police reported that there were still people in disguise moving in the area, setting the rubbish bins on fire.

There have been reports of delays in the city’s bus service and some bus stops have been shut down. One of the company’s buses was set on fire by throwing a burning object inside.

In the morning, the police told SVT that the situation had been calmed down during the night and the number of police officers on the spot could have been reduced.

Police moved the far-right politician to Malmö

The riots began earlier on Saturday, when people gathered on the outskirts of Malmö to oppose the far-right Rasmus Paludanin event.

Paludan, who leads the Danish Stram Kurs party, is in the habit of burning the Qur’an in public places and in areas with a large Muslim population.

On Saturday, Paludan was scheduled to hold an incident in Landskrona, but a few hours before the incident began, police announced that the incident had been moved to the outskirts of Malmö.

Police said they based their decision on a risk assessment.

There was a riot on Saturday in both Landskrona and Malmö.

The cancellation of the Paludan incident was also raised as an option.

However, police stressed that the right to demonstrate and express oneself is so weighty that it cannot be ignored.

Rioting for many days

This was the third day in a row that the protests had escalated into riots in connection with the events in Paludan. This was the case in Linköping and Norrköping on Thursday, and in Stockholm and Örebro on Friday.

In Örebro, 12 police officers were injured and several police cars were set on fire. Police were also injured on Thursday.

Several people are suspected of crimes in connection with the riot.

On Saturday night, the Chief of Police of Sweden Anders Thornberg condemned the events of recent days.

– These are very serious crimes against the police and other rescue operations. Many participants in the riots have focused on attacking police and police equipment. The attitude towards the lives of my co-workers and others has been careless, Thornberg said.

Also the Prime Minister of Sweden Magdalena Andersson condemned the events on Saturday.
