Riot gives the Valorant streamer a “cozy care package” so that she feels good despite a serious illness

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Riot Games has sent a package with gifts and a letter with kind words to a seriously ill Twitch streamer who often shows Valorant.

Who is the person you are talking about? Kyedae Shymko is a 21-year-old streamer who frequently plays LoL developer Riot Games’ tactical shooter Valorant on Twitch.

On March 3, 2023, the streamer announced via Twitter that she had leukemia. Shortly thereafter, she explained in a stream that she had not told her fiancé about the diagnosis for a long time.

Kyedae’s fiancé is Valorant pro Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, who was playing in a major esports tournament at the time of the diagnosis. The streamer’s long silence was to make sure he was focused on the game and his work.

Feel-good package from Riot

What is this package? Riot Games has sent two packages to Kyedae containing a selection of gifts and a letter of kind words. Kyedae read part of the letter during a live stream. In the letter, the developers of the tactical shooter wrote:

Hi Kyedae, our team has put together a few personal favorite things that we love and find comforting. We hope they give you the same sense of ease and comfort that they do for us. This also includes some of our favorite pieces from Valorant and Riot

The package included some collectible figures, which are limited to 70 pieces, as well as a self-designed bag.

“I don’t want to cry”

How did the streamer react to the gift? The streamer was visibly pleased with the gifts from Riot Games, but was also emotionally touched by the words in the letter.

After reviewing the contents of the packages, Kyedae continued reading the letter. However, after a few lines she broke it off with the words:

“Okay, I don’t want to cry. I won’t read this anymore. I’m not in the mood to cry right now.”

Kyedae is highly valued in the Valorant community and also has a good heart. Almost a year ago, in March 2022, she and her fiancé gave a new PC to a 15-year-old streamer after the girl’s father threw her long-saved computer into a pool.
